The Women:

CASEY: Casey seems very nice — talkative without being annoying, charming without being creepy, and interesting without being too much. He is a fifth-grade teacher and nighttime DJ with two sons and says his family is No. 1, with his love of music at No. 2. Living without both is going to be tough for him. He is also the oldest houseguest and the only houseguest with children. He is a little scared that his wife will be jealous while watching him and wishes he had spent more time talking to her about his game play. He has no set strategy, not because he doesn’t know how to strategize but because there really isn’t a way to plan anything without knowing the rest of his housemates. He probably will be a character, and people watching the show will like him. He has a good shot at doing well in the “Big Brother” game.

LYDIA: Lydia is a fun girl who looks like she is really outgoing but is actually kind of shy and reserved. After meeting her for only a few minutes, I trusted her, and I think the other houseguests will feel that as well, if they take the time to talk to her. She hopes that her housemates will be open-minded, and doesn’t like when people judge her or others. She loves music and will really miss going to concerts while living in the house. It is tough to read how well she’ll do — she wants to fly under the radar, but she has a lot to say. Among her many tattoos is a pawn on her finger; only time will tell whether she uses her housemates as pawns or becomes one herself.

LAURA: Laura is going in with a lot of gusto. She has been a big fan of the show since season 2 and says she is ready to go in and win. I think she may come across as a strong competitor to the other players, but that is not what she is concerned about. She is worried that her considerable cleavage will serve as a disadvantage, especially since she does not want to have a “showmance.” She hopes that there are pushover-type guys in the house so that she can use her looks to manipulate them, yet she worries about how she’ll be edited on the show. A self-professed “Big Brother” nerd, she has always loved to get all the details on the show and has spent considerable time on the message boards in the past. Laura may be the most cut-throat player this season by a long shot, so she’ll either be out early for freaking people out or she’ll last until the very end.

KEVIN: This boy is good times. He’s witty, stylish and loves girls, just not in that way. While on the show, he will miss his nine-year anniversary with his domestic partner. In his own words, he will fill the gay roll with “plenty of gayness” — meaning, for “Big Brother” fans, he is more of a Joe than a Dustin. He hasn’t planned much as far as strategy but says he does plan to hold back the fact that he is a former Jehovah’s Witness, at least for a while, for fear that others will judge him. Previous gay houseguests have done well on this show, and there don’t appear to be other housemates that would give him a hard time. He hopes that his parents, whom he hasn’t talked to in years, will be told about the show and will watch him and maybe even be proud of him. I don’t know if Kevin will win, but I think he’ll make it to the jury.

BRADEN: This was the one interview that was simply awkward. General consensus so far in the media is that something’s up with this guy, but no one is sure what. The Santa Monica surfer boy comes across as cocky when it seems that deep down he’s not. He started watching “Big Brother” when his friend Nathan was on season 4, and he thought he’d like to do it this year … then bam! He is on. Braden’s hobbies are surfing, which he’s done all over the world, and talking to girls, which from my experience is a little surprising. Looks like Laura will have a guy she can use for the season. I don’t really think that he will go far in the game, but people’s in-house personalities vary widely from their interview personas, so who can really tell.

CHIMA: This super single girl, as she puts it, is full of life, fun and has a very positive aura. She is very bubbly, which will either be a great asset or her greatest downfall. She says she is going to downplay her energy for at least the first couple weeks so people don’t think she’s annoying. While she is excited to go in and play the game, she really hopes she doesn’t get put on slop. If she wins the money, she will first pay off her school loans and then take a trip with her mom and grandma. Fully anti-showmance, she assures me that if there is a guy in the house she finds attractive, she will wait until after the show to pursue him. I’m not sure if Chima is mean enough to win the game, or has the will power to lay low when she needs to, but time will tell.

RUSSELL: This Mixed Martial Arts fighter seems to have a good handle on life and the “Big Brother” game. On my first impression, he seemed to be thinking two steps ahead, always planning for what was going to come next. Although that is great in this game, it’s not great if people know that’s how you are, so we’ll have to see how he acts around his housemates. He really hopes there are no criers in the house, as he doesn’t know how to handle them, and he seems to have a lot of life experience, which comes in handy in this household. He will likely make it at least halfway with his competitive drive and charisma — that is, if he can lay off the fighting for a few months. He also hopes that he doesn’t encounter his perfect person while in the game because he doesn’t want a romantic relationship for anything but strategy.

JEFF: I vote Jeff as the houseguest most likely to get played. He seems too nice for such a cutthroat show and is going into the house wanting a fairytale romance. He thinks meeting someone under these circumstances would be an amazing story to tell. Although it sounds all nice and dandy, we all know that you don’t move into the “Big Brother” house looking to date. If anything, you want to go in and avoid such a thing. Besides that deficiency, Jeff seems like a really genuine guy, even living by the motto, “Treat others as you’d like to be treated.” Another positive is that he comes from an athletic background, so he has a good chance at endurance and physical challenges. Will that be enough to overcome his overwhelming niceness?

MICHELE: Michele is sooo excited to be on the show. She is a super fan who has been watching since season 2. Besides that, Michele says, she has the brains to get to the end of the game. Although she may be right, I think that the second she tells her housemates that she is a neuroscientist, they are going to have her on their brains as someone to get rid of. She plans to hang out under the radar. That strategy may work when a rocket scientist shows up as her housemate. Here’s hoping she gets away with being a super smarty-pants.

RONNIE: W.O.W. in the house. For those of you stuck on World of Warcraft, “Big Brother” is a great way to detox from the gaming life. I too was a serious gamer, and now I’m clean! Ronnie has a very gamer-type personality. Gamers are very good at gaming, but they also tend to be somewhat antisocial, and “Big Brother” is a very social game. Ronnie is also a national speech and debate champion, which probably means he is a good talker. And when I think “speech and debate,” I think Eric (from “Big Brother 8″) on steroids, so that will be fun to watch. Overall, Ronnie has a good shot of making it far in this game, if not to the end.

NATALIE:There are so many things to say about Natalie: She is a manager, which means she is used to having power over people; she is a poker player, which is helpful in this game, as any good poker player knows how to pick up on her opponents’ tells; and she was also the bronze medalist in Tae Kwon Do in the Greece Olympics, which shows that she has determination. Overall, she has so much to offer in this game that I can only imagine she’ll go far. That is, if she doesn’t get trapped in a showmance — she says she’s not looking, but I think she and Russell have a ton in common, and if the chemistry is there…

JORDAN: Jordan has to be the sweetest person of the season, at least from her first impression. She was one of the “Big Brother” recruits, which means that she had never seen an episode prior to a month ago. She says that not having access to the world won’t be that big of a deal considering that she doesn’t have Internet access or a computer. Jordan is really excited to move into the house so she can have her own bed, as she currently shares with her mom. I’m hoping she makes it at least to the jury house so she can have the full experience, and so she can win some money to bring home. That said, I think the only chance she has of getting anywhere in this game is if others notice her sweetness and use her to further their own goals. People will see that she is not a threat.

Now, the main bedroom, right off the living room, is also red with tall head boards. The second & third bedrooms had a pool theme to it that makes you feel like you’re under water.  The living room features purple couches and green nomination chairs. The walls are different colours of plywood.  The living room also features a huge bowl of keys… but we don’t know what they’re for it.   Heading to the HOH room the spiral stairs are now painted orange. Now, the HOH room wall is made of glass, so it looks like you’re looking outside and the bathroom has a surfer feel. I’ll post a tidbit of her article (there’s more than one part) and you can go to welovebigbrother.com to view it all!

When we first entered the house, I noticed that the one big wall on the side had been changed.  It had tons of plants and all the walls had been changed to different colors of plywood.  It looked really cool.  The interior decorating looked really nice.  When I turned to my left, I noticed the kitchen had an oriental theme with Buddha statues and Chinese heirlooms.

I remember there were plastic chopsticks and the plates were actually made out of bamboo.  The plates were really thin and almost looked like paper plates.  The cabinets were made out of bamboo as well.  There were a lot of orange and red colors in the kitchen.  It looked like the houseguests will have to grow their own spices because there were garlic and thyme plants in the kitchen.  The oven, refrigerator, and all normal appliances were still present.

Before entering the house, Allison Grodner informed us that the house was going green.  She told us that there were two compost machines in the house.  One was in the backyard and…

we weren’t allowed to use it.  There was also a compost machine in the kitchen, but none of us ever really figured out how to use it.  Also, the garbage cans in the kitchen had a side for paper and plastic and another side for glass.

Once we became acquainted with the kitchen, we ventured down the hall to the bathroom.  It had an industrial look to it.  The couch was still in the corner.  The bathroom had its normal setup with no major changes, other than the walls looking industrial.  As far as online rumors go, there were no urinals on the wall!  The shower door was clear with a little portion of foggy glass so you can’t see the midriff of anyone.  There was a sliding shower curtain in the middle to split the shower in two.  There was another online rumor that the sinks were had motion sensors.  Jen actually thought this was the case and waved her hands under the sink, but no water came out.  Then she figured out she had to turn on the handle!

The exercise / spa room has two bicycles that have light bulbs next to them.  When you pedal each bike, the light bulbs light up.  At one point, Gunther and Jay were riding the bikes to see who could get the brightest light bulb.  We joked around that it would be funny if the houseguests had to continuously ride a bike to keep the lights on.  Half of the gym has the tops of bottles on the walls in interesting designs.  The other side of the room is decorated with giant bubble wrap.  The green recycling symbol is painted on the walls.

On the other side of the house, there were two bedrooms that we were allowed in.  The first was straight down the hall and had no doors to it.  There were three really cool beds in there.  That room was painted with reds and the headboards were really tall.  Those beds looked really nice and comfortable.  This first room didn’t really have a theme to it.

But the other room had a swimming pool theme.  The first third of the wall had wallpaper that looked like water.  Above the wallpaper was a cement border that looked like the edge of a pool.  The last two thirds of the wall were designed to look like the underside of a pool.  So it felt like you were literally under water.  There were safety ropes running along the ceiling to make it look life-like.  The beds actually had giant floats on them so it looked like you were floating on water.  Coming out of the wall was a slide that was complete with a ladder.  There were extra sunglasses and floats around the bedroom to make it feel like you were actually at the pool.

The diary room looks similar to the way it looked during Big Brother 10.  There wasn’t a theme or anything to it.  It is just a dark and dimly lit room with a comfortable couch to sit on.

The living room still had a similar setup with two couches that were a shade of purple.  There were two green nominee chairs that faced the monitor where Julie Chen talks to the houseguests.  The walls were different shades of plywood.  I know “plywood” doesn’t sound really nice, but it did look really cool.

One strange thing I noticed was that in the living room there was a random dish of keys.  At first we thought maybe there was a twist and we had to use the keys to unlock a secret room.  But we ended up just making up games of hiding and searching for the keys.

Back to the kitchen area, the spiral staircase is painted orange to match the kitchen theme.  There are a lot of cool pictures upstairs.  They were hung up high with lights shining behind them to light up the pictures.  In the Head of Household balcony, there was a large comfortable couch that was sage-green.  Oh, the chessboard it still there too.  When we first walked in the Head of Household room, the one wall had glass over it and behind it there was an outdoors picture.  So it almost looks like you’re looking out a window.  So that part of the room has a recreational or outdoors theme.  There was actually a big, comfortable chair in the HOH room that swiveled around.  Everyone took a turn spinning around in the fun, new chair.  The spy screen in the HOH room looked the same.  It had a looping Big Brother 11 screensaver on it.

The HOH bathroom had a big surfboard on the wall with a wetsuit attached to it.

The first time the door opened to go into the backyard, I right away noticed that there was still a pool table.  There was new patio furniture.  The hot tub, pool, and hammock have all returned this year.  The mural on the back wall was of a windmill field and looked really cool.

Another online rumor is that the clothes washer has disappeared.  However, there was definitely a washer there when I lived in the house.

The compost machine was set off in the corner and we were told not to use it.  I’m not sure how it worked, but I saw it over in the corner.

THOUGHTS?

First up, we have a theme throughout the house this year – called “The Have and The Have-Not’s”. You should be able to get the general idea regarding what that’s about from the name.
Now to much talked about High School theme that has caused various rumors to spread out over the internet. Here is how it will work:

Big Brother has cast people who they believe represent some typical high school stereotypes. However, it will not be Big Brother pairing them up. Once they enter the house, they will be told to form the cliques themselves – Big Brother will not force them together like Big Brother 9. In other words, Big Brother could have cast someone that they see as a Jock but the houseguests could decide that they are a “geek” instead.

Once these cliques are formed, they will play as teams for a while, but they will eventually split off into individuals and play the Big Brother Game by themselves.

We’re a bit… shocked… that they’d try working in pairs teams again, since Season 9 had to be one of the worst planned seasons in the entire history of Big Brother. We totally think things will work out… if they straightened out all of the kinks. But, at the same time, we totally understand their point of view – never judge a book by it’s cover. We like what we see but sometimes things look great on paper and turn out to be complete and utter shit. We hope the 11th season, and 10th anniversary of Big Brother USA will not be!

As far as the twist, I’ll ask you a question. What clique were you part of in High School?

Very, VERY interesting. Everyone can very easily relate to a high school bully,  being in the “in crowd” or not. HURRY UP MONDAY!!!!!

If Big Brother is taking notes from other versions, please, PLEASE let them ‘borrow’ the shopping budget tasks and punishments for breaking the rules. They know not to talk about Diary Room sessions, that they must wear their microphone (unless they’re sleeping) and that the bedroom lights must remain on during the day. PUNISHMENT!!! Okay, okay, getting back on track… If the show cannot afford a wrap party, I have a hard time believing that they’d be willing to up the ante higher than 500K [or make more challenges to have them reach 500K].

I’m a little hesitant to post this, as I’m sure I’ll get some hate/disbelief claims, but it’s certainly pertinent!

One of my old college buddies has a job with EndemolUSA out in Cali, and while he isn’t doing any work on Big Brother 11, he said he was pretty sure of some stuff going on in this season.

Initially I had taken everything he said with a grain of salt, but he had already told me that they decided to “do the house very green and ecofriendly,” and now that that has proven to be true, I’ve taken his other big claim more seriously. I’m still considering this speculation, but it sounds VERY plausible.

The twist? Here is a summary of what I have been told… CBS is making all of their shows cut back on their budget and saving where necessary (the economy blah blah blah), and this year, the twist is that when all the houseguests enter the house, they’re being told that the prize money this year is ZERO DOLLARS. And now, instead, they’ll have to build the prize money as they go along.

Now I don’t know if that means they’ll have to raise it in challenges, or by going without certain items in the house or whatever, and “Jim” (we’ll call my source that) didn’t know much beyond that. I assume the max they could get is the standard 500,000… but who knows.

• The kitchen table is of a tree. The carpet is really synthetic grass. (lol) It has a jungle/forest theme.
• The living room has recliners and a huge tank with ‘aquatic life’ (I SO hope that this is the house pet – go to BBDish to find out- but I have a hard time believing this rumor.
• The washroom is like a public bathroom with urinals and sensored sinks. Apparently the shower glass is see-through and there’s only ONE curtain to cover you [but two showers]. They also say the floors are green and the walls are orange.
• The wall to the HOH room is Asian themed, with dragons and hanging globes. (sphere’s or actual globes? Idunno)
• The backyard has a fountain, no washer (finally! they’re taking notes from BB:UK – they wash everything by hand) and a new mural!

This top-secret insider claims that the bedrooms and the Head of Household room were locked off, with no access. Maybe they saved the best for last?
