Two company clubs will face-off each episode in front of the judges and an audience, where the winning team will be awared $10,000 for their charity.

Although Eliminated Ashthon Jones Remains Driven

Despite being elminated first, Ashthon Jones says this experience has helped her as she got the experience life in the music business. People spoke with her.

Nashville’s Ashthon Jones admits that being the first finalist booted off American Idol this season wasn’t surprising – especially after sliding into the wildcard slot to round out the top 13 – but the singer plans to go full speed ahead with her music career.

“I’m so driven right now,” she says. “I’d rather be tired doing this than sitting at home. I now know what it takes to live that star life.”
Jones burst into tears when the judges opted not to save her following her redemption attempt by singing Diana Ross’s “When You Tell Me That You Love Me” because she was overwhelmed, she says, that “I was leaving so soon and I really didn’t want to leave my friends.”

One pal in particular, fellow contestant Casey Abrams, always helped keep Jones’s spirits up. “It’s ridiculous how super funny he is,” she says.

Although Abrams was absent from Thursday’s show due to receiving blood transfusions for his ulcerative colitis, Jones is confident that Abrams, 20, will “rise and keep performing. It’s so scary, but he’s strong and keeps on going.”

After returning to Nashville, Jones, 25, will continue to write songs, draw portraits and plans to keep producer Rodney Jerkins, with whom she recorded on the show, on speed dial.

“He pushed me to hit notes that I’d never hit before,” she says. “And though I can’t hit notes like Beyoncé can, I would have loved to belt out one of her songs.”

Idol’s Casey Abrams Back In The Hospital!

Veteran Idol host, Ryan Seacrest, informed viewers that Idol front runner Casey Abrams was missing from the results show because he was back in the hospital. Ryan gave the impression that not only would Casey be well enough to return for next week, but that he was also not on the chopping block.

TMZ has reported that Casey was taken to the hospital with complaints of severe stomach pains.  Stay tuned as we find out more about Casey’s mysterious hospital trips!

UPDATE: Joesplaceblog has been in contact with some sources who say that when Casey gets stressed/nervous, his stomach starts to bleed. They are not sure if this is caused by ulcers or another underlying issue.

They also report that Casey is calm and his only concern is getting it under control so he can get back to the Idol stage!

Our Idol Top 13 Thoughts!

Honestly, what a terrible way to start it off. All the songs were boring as shit. And I fell asleep at one point. Not sure who will go home. Will be interesting to see.

Ashton Jones – When You Tell Me That You Love Me
I am disappoint. I love her, a lot. But she should have learned from last week that she cannot just stand in front of a mic and sing. Her attitude and personality helps her and she needs to channel into it while she performs. Could have been better.

Casey Abrams – With A Little Help From My Friends
One thing that I like about Casey, is that he can take a “classic” song and make it hip and current. Might not be my favorite rendition but it will be enough to get him through.

Haley Reinhart – Blue
Risky song to sing. She did a good job but I agree with Randy that it was a bit sleepy.

Jacob Lusk – I Believe I Can Fly
Boring. Next.

James Durbin – Maybe I’m Amazed
James is not my favorite, but I must applaud him for changing up for the song and singing it in his OWN style.

Our Idol Top 12 Women Review!

After quite a few male blunders last night, we’re anxious to see how the women do tonight. Hopefully they have picked the right songs to sing!

Ashthon Jones – Love All Over Me by Monica
Not the best that we’ve seen from her but I really like for her to be in the Top 12.

Haley Reinhart – Fallin by Alicia Keys
I actually liked this. She pulled it off enough. So many people sing that song and fail miserably. It was tolerable and enjoyable. Go Haley.

Julie Zorrilla – Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson
Yikes.

Karen Rodriguez – Hero by Mariah Carey
The problem with singing Hero is that not many people sing it with the attitude that Mariah has and that was evident here. She just sang the song flawlessly but at times it felt detattched like she was just in front of a mircorphone singing. Dark horse.

Kendra Chantelle – Impossible by Christina Aguilera
Perfect song for her voice. I wonder if nerves got the best of her because she should have killed that. She would have raised the bar SO HIGH.

Lauren Alaina – Turn on the Radio by Reba McEntire
Kelly & Carrie hybrid. Love her. She better win.

Lauren Turner – Seven Day Fool by Jully Black
Great song for her voice. I actually like this better than Jully’s version. One thing that needed was a little guitar and a bit more rock feel.
