Survivor One World: Cast and Twist Spoilers!

The cast for Survivor One World has been released and with that EW.com got to speak with Probst, where they got some inside scoop on upcoming twists!

Redemption Island: Will it make an appearance? »

The biggest thing fans are wondering is if Redemption Island will make a return. Not only does the new promo running on CBS suggest that Redemption Island won’t be making an appearance, Probst confirms this as well, however he tells EW.com that we may see Redemption Island come back in the future!

A new type of challenge! »

The next new (or returning) addition is something that Jeff likes to call “Do It Yourself Challenges.” This is partially new. We’ve seen something similar in Samoa, but this season castaways will be arranging challenges all by themselves, without our mighty Probsty!

That’s right, tribes will be given materials and instructions informing them of the rules – then they conduct their own challenge. They’ll decide things like who will participate, who will be in charge and what to do with the left over materials! They’ll be the judge and we can already smell the drama.

What about the Hidden Immunity Idol? »

Changes to the Hidden Immunity Idol are also on their way. This season, if you find the hidden immunity idol, you don’t get to keep it for yourself, oh no,  you have to give it to someone else on the opposing tribe! You can use it to barter for some allies or an exchange of their idol… it’s really up to you!

Probst’s 6-Point Plan To Winning Survivor!

Jeff Probst spoke with TV Guide and totally gave away his strategy to winning the game should he ever get to play the game. Take a look at Jeff’s top 6 tips to winning the game!

Oh! And if you’re applying for Big Brother 14 – you may want to give this a read! Could give you some winning tips!

1. Read people. I think I’m a pretty good read of people. That really subtle read of the competitors from moment to moment is crucial.

2. Stay involved. I would play the game in a way that would keep me in the mix without being in the line of fire. I would always want to know what’s going on.

3. Avoid laying low. I think staying under the radar makes it really hard to win the game.

4. Keep the vets. I would not get rid of them. I would never get rid of Ozzy early, ever! That guy is phenomenal on the beach. But given the choice, I would take Boston Rob over Ozzy. Rob can do everything. He can do puzzles, he can do challenges, he can build your shelter, and he can play the social game. Just playing the odds, I would take a strong vet as far as I could because I’m pretty sure they’re going to help me get further.

5. Then, vote them off. All you have to do is use those guys until you don’t need them anymore, and then cut them loose. (But the inherent risk is that if you let them stay, they may cut you before you cut them).

6. Make a big move. I’d be very mindful of when I made my personal move. I always say to people before the game: the people who win make at least one big, risky move. The only way to have a shot is to go for the win, and going for the win means it’s a do or die situation. The players who I consider my favorite had the balls to make a huge move, knowing it could absolutely fail and get them voted out that night. But often, it’s what gets them to the end.

Survivor: Stephanie Speaks on Russell Alliance

Stephanie spoke to People about being the most recent castaway headed home from Redemption Island. Here’s what this pitbull had to say about her alliance with Russell, and her time on the island.

Did you know aligning with Russell would put you on the wrong side of the numbers?
I had no idea the sheer panic that his presence brought to the other tribe mates. I didn’t understand it. I mean, I know he had this reputation, but if we had kept winning we wouldn’t have had to worry about it. Then we get to the merge and you can get rid of him if you really can’t stand him.
So why align with such a threat?
I thought, “How can this person benefit me? No one likes him so I’ll get the votes.” That’s a positive to having him as an ally – he can get to the top but no one will vote for him.

But why not try to get more people on your side?
We tried everything under the sun to align with everyone. We had David in the beginning – it was me, Russell, David, and Krista – and a couple hours later something went wrong with him and he backed out.

You could have jumped ship when you knew Russell was going down.
I didn’t want to come off fake. I didn’t want to be like, “Everything’s fine.” My feelings were hurt. He was part of my alliance and now I have to try and be two-faced with these people and say, “I’m glad we got rid of Russell! Things are better around camp.” I just couldn’t do that. I thought maybe they would respect my loyalty.

You got pretty emotional when you had to burn your buff.
It’s heartbreaking. You put your sweat, blood, tears into that thing. I’m just so sad because such a huge part of being on Survivor is our buff, and I felt so awful burning it. As much as I don’t like Zapatera and can’t stand purple, I was like, “That’s my buff! I love it!”

You definitely made all your feelings known when leaving Redemption Island.
I didn’t want to say anything because I didn’t want to cry. But I couldn’t hold it back, and I was like, “Well, I’m already crying, let me say everything that’s on my mind.” I felt so much better after letting Rob know that [Zapatera] can’t be trusted. I don’t want them to succeed. When I take losses in real life, I feel like I’m a lot more graceful. But this isn’t real life – it’s a game.

Burning your buff is pretty bad; plus, I saw people retweeting that Jeff said that that is the ONLY buff you get (even after the show). Daaaang – that’s rough.
