The duo finally went through with the plans and Jeff tweeted his goodbyes to his friends and family as they are heading to Los Angeles this week.

In an earlier tweet, Jeff reveals that he and Jordan got their own show for CBSi! Included in the message was a photo of the both of them in front of the Route 6 sign. That’s all Jeff revealed but hinted at more details to come!

Holy hell is all I have to say about that premiere! (No, just kidding, there’s more. That’s why there’s a blog.) I don’t know what else to say without giving away the outcome, so only click if you’ve already watched — trust me, this isn’t an episode you want spoiled.

Alright, so this episode was kickass. It had great drama, it had a lot more equal editing than I’m used to, it didn’t have Redemption Island, it didn’t have a Hantz, and also it ended with a fucking medevac. Fucking sweet.

But before that — let’s start at the beginning. Everyone was chilling all up on the beach and Jeff asked them about their gender. He asked Kourtney, who was inexplicably wearing a hat with an orca whale on it or some shit, how she thought she’d fit in with the women and she said something generic that I don’t remember. Then he asked Colton how he’d fit in with the guys, and he launched into over-dramatic stereotype gay guy mode and talked about how cute they all were. I hate him already.

So then Papa Probst told the two tribes to stand on the different mats based on the presence or lack thereof of a Y chromosome and apparently this was a shock to some of them despite what he had just asked. They were then officially divided into Salani and Manono, which are by far the two worst pre-merge tribe names that Survivor has ever had. I cannot wait for the merge.

Jeff told the castaways that they had sixty seconds to strip everything they could, which made Chelsea reach for her belt, but then went on to clarify that he was referring to the truck full of supplies behind them (which she probably should have figured out before starting to disrobe. I would not get naked in front of Tarzan for a million dollars, by the way). The two tribes started getting supplies off the truck, except for Carson Daly who apparently took a leave of absence from hosting The Voice long enough to go and earn my respect by stealing things from the women’s mat instead.

The two tribes then were told to wander off in separate directions to their respective camps, and along the way, Alicia formed a “SACKK” alliance with Sabrina, Chelsea, Kat and Kim. This alliance proceeded to not really matter at all for the rest of the episode and the only reason I remember it is because as she named off the other members, we got some badass Sherlock-style editing where their names appeared next to them on the screen. It was sweet.

The two tribes then eventually reached their camps and realized that they were going to be living on one beach (in ONE WORLD — get it??!?!?! no seriously though that’s the worst twist name imaginable), a novel concept that has NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE (if we pretend that Fiji and Thailand and Palau don’t exist). Chelsea then proceeded to catch two chickens, which apparently the men expected to her to share with them for whatever reason which led to some fun drama. The drama didn’t culminate with Alicia waving her finger in a man’s face due to chicken-related drama, but it was close!

Colton started blatantly sucking at everything by pre-emptively assuming he couldn’t get along with masculine people and he then proceeded to beg the other tribe to give him a Hiden Immunity Idol. Lawyer dude Matt (who is now in an alliance with Bill, Carson and Jay — hereafter referred to as the Buff Bros’ Brigade) went up to Colton and told him that he should probably quit his petulant bullshit or he’d be out first.

Then we got some more inter-tribal shit where Monica and Christina(?) went up to the dudes and begged them for fire, which was great because the women begging the men to help them do things is just hilarious. Tarzan (who I am hoping has a banana-collecting competition with Troyzan — by the way, why the fuck are two middle-aged men trying to pretend they’re fucking Ozzy?) told Monica that if she stripped naked and did a pole dance then they’d give her fire, and because Tarzan is as sexually appealing as most mammoths she declined his offer. The two of them crept all up into the men’s camp in the night to try and steal fire, which didn’t work out but it was pretty sweet.

Christina then went back the next day and said that a few of the women would weave some palm fronds for the men if the men would give them fire, and for some reason this pissed off Alicia so she got super bitchy about it. Then Sabrina found an Idol because they’re basically fucking marking them with a flag at this point. The challenge was the typical opener for battle of the sexes seasons, a gigantic obstacle course featuring a balance beam, and the first portion of it involved jumping off of a high perch onto a net below. Leif jumped off and flialed around like a Magikarp but besides that nothing else interesting happened until Kourtney decided that putting her arm straight down was a good strategy to land. So then she started to sort of pass out, and Probst sent her off with Medical to get an X-ray.

So then we had a really interesting thing going. Basically Probst said to the men that they could do one of two things — they could either take Immunity and send the women to tribal, or continue the challenge because somehow it could harm their endgames if they opted to win the first challenge? Shit I don’t know. He tried to make it sound like a good idea though, but it didn’t really matter because the men took Immuity and the challenge was the second one to pre-emptively end.. all before we could even see which male would blow their lead on the balance beam and be targeted at the first tribal.

Sabrina gave the Immunity Idol to Colton and told him to blindside one of the BBB’s with it, and then she marched off to Tribal. Alicia proceeded to run her mouth for no real reason about how much she hated Christina and Christina tried to defend herself but then started yelling and Kat tried to play mediator but everyone ignored her which was lulzy and the whole Tribal was the kind of clusterfuck you expect when all these girls are PMSing on an island together. But none of it mattered because Jeff told them that Kourtney was doing fine but needed surgery, and so she became the first boot of season 24, without a vote being held.

So there’s my summary of what went down. Basically anything that isn’t in there you really don’t need to know.

As far as my take on this episode.. holy shit I loved it. A complaint that I’m seeing a lot of people throw around is that it was “anti-climactic”.

….Anti-climatic how?? How is getting someone taken off the show in the very first challenge not intense? Yeah, there was no vote, but that just means next week will be even better. Instead of an Alicia or Christina who causes drama being voted off, instead the tensions will just fester and fester and the tribes will become even more of a clusterfuck and it’ll be awesome. Kourtney being out was intense and it was so surreal and we’re never, ever going to get a premiere like this again. This was by far the best season opener that we have had since HvV.

Anybody who says that it was “anti-climactic” or “lame” that the first boot was a medevac can screw off.

What I was going to do next is rank the players from least to most likely to win, but then I realized that we have no idea where almost any of them stand strategically, so.. it’s not worth the effort.

However, I’m calling it right now that Jonas will win.
