Idol: Answers To Last Nights Burning Questions

Cynthia Wang of People magazine found out all the answers to the Top 10′s burning questions last night.

Why did Lee think that this was his life changing performance? What did Andrew tell Siobhan during her backstage segment? Who was Crystal singing to last night? What’s Aaron’s nickname ? Who was Didi singing to (like we didn’t know) AND MORE!

Why does DeWyze think his performance was one Simon told him would change his life?
“I just felt it a lot more up there tonight than I usually do,” DeWyze said. “The crowd just got more involved and I just got into it and once in the middle of the song, the point of no return, I just hit that note and let it go and it went really well and I’m glad that it went that way.”

What did Andrew Garcia tell Siobhan Magnus when he comforted her backstage after her performance of “Through the Fire”?
“When I came back,” Magnus said, “Andrew said, ‘I know what that’s like. I’ve been there for three weeks.’ It’s good to have everybody [there] because we really have become a family in and amongst ourselves. When we see one of us upset, all we want to do is be there with that person.”

Was Crystal Bowersox singing to someone in particular in the audience?
“Yes, my boyfriend and better half, Tony,” Bowersox said. “It helps that he stood up so I could actually see him and everything else disappeared.” In regard to her stilettos, she added, “And he liked the heels, they were nice, but not all the time!”

Survivor 21 & 22 To Head To Nicaragua

Thankfully there are amazing sleuths, like RealityBlurred, who find awesome news like this. So huge props to Andy! You’re all kinds of awesome!

Survivor will indeed produce its 21st and 22nd seasons in Nicaragua, as a tourism official told a newspaper there that the next season of the CBS series will be filmed there.

Both “the famous U.S. TV show ‘Survivor’ and the Spanish version ‘Superviviente’ are also in the process of confirming Nicaragua as the site for their next shows,” the Nica Times reported, citing Nicaragua Tourism Minister Mario Salinas. He said, “These shows will have a very important [promotional] effect for the country in the U.S. and European markets.”

SYTYCD: 10 Finalists Will Be Paired With All-Stars

Not too sure what I think of this. Maybe that’s why Lacey dropped out of DWTS. Seems a bit early for an allstar season though. Thoughts?

So You Think You Can Dance’s seventh season will have just 10 finalists, and they will be paired with all-star dancers from previous seasons of the show instead of each other.

Of the final 10, who will be half men and half women, “one finalist will go home weekly,” Fox announced today. They will be paired with “former SYTYCD finalists who are skilled in various styles of dance, including ballroom, hip-hop, jazz and contemporary,” and those partners will change weekly. Executive producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe previouslyrevealed some changes last week, including the elimination of the top 20.

While Nigel Lythgoe wrote on Twitter that “Only the competitors will be judged not the ‘All-Stars’,” the all-stars’ performance will, of course, impact the vote. The judges’ in this new format isn’t clear, but it seems like their role will be reduced to that of American Idoljudges, even though they’ve previously decided who went home during the semi-final rounds. That ensured talented dancers stuck around, but now, it seems, after the auditions, viewers will be in control.

Jeff and Jordan: Amazing Race Made Us Stronger – An Interview

Carrie Bell of People.com sat down and spoke to J&J about their TAR experience and their relationship. Here’s what they had to say… OH AND JEFF TOTALYL HINTS AT THEM DOING ANOTHER REALITY SHOW OR ALLSTARS!

So sad to see you guys go as you never ceased to entertain.
Jeff: At least we accomplished something.

Much of the entertainment value came from Jordan’s ditsy moments — the granddaddy of them all being confusing Noah’s Arc and Joan of Arc.
Jordan: I was like, “I don’t want to watch this episode because I know they’re gonna show that stupid thing I said about Joan.” If I ever learned about her, that was a long time ago and I’d forgotten. Racing, you’re not always thinking straight and the first thing that came to my head when I heard Arc was Noah and animals. It made me feel better when Caite said the same thing. At least I wasn’t the only one.

Where did you go wrong? Biggest misstep?
Jordan: Directions. It was cold. We didn’t communicate well with each other. The whole cab ride in Germany really threw us off for the next two legs. That guy took us probably 40 minutes out of the way and put us so far behind. It just went downhill from there.
Jeff: That really messed with our heads. It’s hard to play catch-up.

Fallen Idol: Interview with Paige Miles

I actually feel bad for her. She had a great voice pre-laryngitis. Too bad. But girl… everyone knows not to sing Mariah, Celine or Whitney!

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Hi, Paige. How are you doing?
PAIGE MILES: Pretty good. How are you?

Good. Sorry to hear you’re so sick. You don’t sound too good.
Oh, it’s just laryngitis, and after all these interviews it’s getting worse. I’ve been struggling with it for a couple of weeks now.

Did that have a big effect on your ”Against All Odds” performance on Tuesday?
I was struggling vocally with it. There were things I wanted to do with it that I couldn’t so I was trying to find a different way to sing it. When you’re used to singing one way and your vocal cords aren’t letting you do that, it’s tough. I really struggled with the song.

EW’s Interview with Tyson!

This ass actually likes being known as the biggest idiot to play the game. Dalton, as always, asks the best Q’s.

Let me ask you point blank: Where does your vote flip rank on the list of dumbest Survivormoves ever?
I would hope number one. I’ve been number one in so many things, I don’t want to lose it now.

I don’t think it’s quite number one, I think it’s still…
Erik Reichenbach?

Yeah.
I don’t even know his last name. I just know it starts with an R and ends in “bach” so Reichenbach is pretty good. Is that right? Is that his real name?

It is, actually. Well done. But I think he’s just edging you out on the moron meter.
I don’t know. He knew immediately… Well, he should have known immediately, but he probably didn’t. But I really thought… Well, once I did it I got pretty nervous and then I was like, “I still got a good chance at this.” And then when Russell panicked and ran around in a circle and gave the idol to Parvati, I was like, “Oh my God, I cannot believe this is happening.”

Jeff’s Blog: Episode 6!

I missed you last week, Jeff! He talks about Rob vs Russell (and how Rob is smarter), the immunity challenge, and how Tyson is the biggest idiot in Survivor history (MYTH CONFIRMED). Don’t forget to head to EW to see some deleted scenes!

The Boston Rob vs. Russell showdown continues!Russell: He’s threatening Russell Hantz. When do you that, you go.

Rob: He’s not playing with the amateurs anymore. Playing with the big boys now.

Rob: I’m just telling you watch your back.
Russell: Same thing for you man, watch your back.

Russell: Boston Rob says it’s better to play with me than against me. Oh, really? I believe I’m gonna get him to eat those words.

And last night, I think Rob was served an appetizer.
More on that later.

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE
Physically, Boston Rob continues to dominate this game. I don’t think there is anybody left that can beat him at any of the challenges. Like him or hate him, you cannot deny that if you’re in a fox hole, B-Rob would not be a bad guy to have in there with you. Part McGuyver, part Pete Rose — in my book, he’s money.
And for all of you who are saying “Nah nah nah nah nah nah! Look at how well James did, he did better than Colby in the challenge! The Heroes were right to keep him in the game!!” Well, you’re right. He did beat Colby, and so did Rupert, and in response, James had some funny comments that I’m sure were tough for Colby to hear:
At camp…
James: You, the great Colby. So if you turn it on and start winning, we’ll be alright. But if it’s the old sleepy ass Colby that gets beat by a fat man and a cripple. That ain’t right.

NBC refuses to let Conan O’Brien appear on Idol Gives Back

And people continue to shit on Jay? Let’s get the facts straight – the only bad people here is NBC. Poor Conan. He would have been a huge asset. But really, it’s time that NBC stops holding Jay & Conan hostage. It’s really fucking sad that they cannot even let him participate in a CHARITY EVENT. Article.

Conan O’Brien won’t appear on American Idol 9’s Idol Gives Back special in about a month because NBC won’t let him.

In a story about Conan’s discussions with Fox about hosting a late-night show on the network,The Hollywood Reporter says that “O’Brien has been approached to take part in Fox’s ‘Idol Gives Back’ special April 21” and that “the invitation to O’Brien came not from Fox but from ‘American Idol’ producer 19 Entertainment.”

But the paper says that “invitation was taken to NBC to determine whether that network would allow it under its settlement with the talk show host. The answer was no, as the moratorium on any TV appearances by O’Brien doesn’t expire until May 1.”

So, the network that screwed him and dumped him in favor of that not-at-all-funny hack Jay Leno is now preventing him from participating in a charity event on a competing network. I understand the contractual prohibition, and that Idol Gives Back isn’t exactly a telethon—it’s an episode that Fox wants to draw as many viewers to as possible—but this still seems very déclassé.
