The twenty second day in the Celebrity Big Brother House saw the headcount reduced by two. The previous night Frankie Dettori and Tricia Penrose left the building and, with their number significantly reduced, it was little wonder the majority of talk concerned the final.

Speidi’s opening thoughts of the day followed that thread. They talked about their wildcard prediction and wondered aloud how the final will go. Later on and with the rest of the group, the discussion centred on post-House drinks and partying. Speidi couldn’t agree on whether their ex-housemates would hypothetically want them around.

After all the excitement of losing two of their chums, there was a peaceful lull in the House. Spencer used it as an opportunity to brush up on the rules. Bit late for that one, Spence. Along with Heidi, Spencer was slightly shocked to hear from Razor that everyone who’d walked through the door this series would be present at the finale. Might be a bit of an awkward night for the couple from The Hills.

Ryan tried to distract himself by improving his (already impressive) juggling skills, but ultimately talk kept turning to the final, finals our housemates have known and what prizes they’ll deserve after 23 days in the House.  There was a slight upset later on when Speidi went back to their destructive ways, kicking the House snowman to death and feeling thebitter side of Rylan’s tongue again. Then Razor and Rylanturned on their old mucker Claire – but it was all in good fun.

As the evening drew closer, Big Brother handed our finalists alast supper, complete with conversation-starters to prompt some keen chatter. In amongst the tributes, Spencer broke down in tears and inspired suspicion – particularly amongstRylan and Razor. That particular pair decided to end the night with a spot of midnight skinny-dipping. A fitting end to the last but one evening in the House for this particular crop of contestants.

The day of the semi-final took its sweet time to get going. The morning was full of traditional pre-eviction doubts and a less traditional discussion which led us to wonder who would be what animal. It took the introduction of Jamie East – whose recent clean shave means he’d no longer be a lion – to get things interesting. Viewers Venom involved housemates hearing what the public has to say. Some of you need to wash your mouths out with soap and water. What would your mother’s say to this or this?

As evening rolled around a thoughtful mood descended, with housemates washing down their delicious roast with a mug ofuncertain-tea. They weren’t too distracted to get dolled up – apart from Spencer, resident non-materialist. Then it was time for the first eviction. Little Frankie Dettori was the first to ride on the crest of public cheers to the finishing line we call the outside world. Feel free to reminisce with his best bits. The dust had barely settled before Tricia Penrose’s heart beat faster at the sound of her name. The second evictee of the night left three outfits richer courtesy of yesterday’s fashion police task, which you may glimpse here in her highlights.

Speidi, Ryan, Rylan, Razor and Claire were left to process the double departures while absorbing the revelation that they’d all reached the final. Claire and Rylan mourned their evicted pals for as long as it took for BB to lay on celebratory drinks. They’re not fickle. They just subscribe to Spencer’s philosophy of flow.

Give or take token sniping, the final five were very friendly with each other. Even the unsentimental overlord we call Big Brother was moved by their camaraderie and allowed a late-night delivery of letters from home for Rylan and Ryan. Rylan wept liked he’d just watched the Anne Hathaway scene in Les Mis. It was totes emosh.

Will the last full day in the House be as warm and fuzzy as it was yesterday night? We couldn’t tell ya. What we can tell ya is to keep checking this website.
